Dubbel Speciale is a magnificent dark Belgian ale. It is brewed according to the ancient “Dobbel Special Belge” style and rings up at 8.3% ABV. It comes wrapped up like a x-mas present which is awesome for two reasons… 1. it keeps the light out and 2. makes me feel like a kid opening up the best gift ever!… In the nose this guy is sweet and mildly spicy… in the mouth it is a tad bit bitter but then you get an explosion of awesome malt… It is mildly smoky, spicy, fruity and has a hint of banana and apples…damn this is a great beer…. I know I say that in almost every post, but… damn this is a good beer. It has defiantly rocketed up to the top of my list as one of my favorite Belgian ales.
