This is another extraordinary beer from RRBC. Just like Consecration this guy is aged in used wine barrels but instead of Cabernet barrels like Consecration this guy is aged 9 to 15 months in Chardonnay barrels. The nose is tarty and fruity, slightly sweet. Almost like a sour green apple. In the mouth it is magnificent. The tartness immediately makes your mouth water as the flavor fills your mouth. Then you get a hint of Chardonnay and smokey woodsiness of the barrel. The bubbles in this beer are very much like a nice champagne versus a beer. Actually this guy reminds me a lot of Txakoli, which is a tart bubbly dry white wine served mainly in Spain with tapas. In addition to all of these flavors you get hints of the base light Belgian ale this awesome beer was built upon. The color of this beer is super light and blond like a Pilsner which doesn’t seem to make sense with all of the awesome flavors packed in this guy. Another great beer from RRBC to sip and enjoy, well worth the $20 a bottle…
