Wow, Autumn Maple is another great beer from The Bruery! It is a seasonal dark Belgian style ale brewed with a ton of yams, a ton of spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice and vanilla), molasses and maple syrup. The first sip of this guy is sweet and you get the strong alcohol flavor coming from the massive 10% ABV, but the next sip is pure awesomeness. The sweetness and the strong alcohol flavor goes away and you are presented with a really flavorful and complex dark Belgian ale. The yams go perfectly in this Belgian style ale and the spices balance everything out perfectly. Speaking of the yams, they are awesome in this beer, really evident and really ads complexity to the beer and they don’t create a rich sweetness that can keep you from enjoying the beer like other seasonal beers brewed with yams. In the nose this guy is sweet and spicy, and In the mouth it has Campaign like carbonation with flavors of banana, cloves, cinnamon and yams along with all of the awesome dark belgian spiciness. I am going to grab a case of these guys before the season is out so I can keep enjoying these guys through the winter.
