Deschutes: The Abyss, 2009 Reserve
It is here, oh yes, it is here. K&L just got in a few cases of these bad boys and I was lucky to score 3 bottles. This is the first year I have been privileged enough to score a bottle and man do I feel like a lucky lucky man….that being said, let me try to review this dark and lovely beast. It pours from the bottle super smooth. It almost looks like you are pouring motor oil…it creates an awesome (have to apologize for the excessive use of awesome now) dark brown head.
THE ABYSS 2009 Release Date Revealed
One of the most sought after seasonal brews has just been given a release date! This is the fourth seasonal release of The Abyss, a 11% imperial stout from Deschutes brewery is rolling out of the brewery November 3rd. It will be available in the Deschutes brew pub in Portland right away with a limit of 6 bottles per person. Talking with my beer guy from K&L, he said he is expecting a shipment in the next couple weeks. I can not wait to pick up a few bottles.
Red Chair IPA
This is a great summer seasonal Double IPA. It has a super citrus nose and a clean and slightly bitter finish. The hop aroma from this beer is awesome. When you go in for a sip, the hop fragrance fills your nose and palate. This is a seasonal beauty from Deschutes Brewery, the same guys [...]
